Agreement with Microsoft Corporation

JSC Informatic, the topline Russian linguistic program developer, announces signing an agreement with
Microsoft, the world?s leader in software production.
According to the agreement, Microsoft receives the license to use the new linguistic technologies of
Informatic in its programs.
The unique modules developed by Informatic (the modules are already shipping with the electronic
dictionaries system CONTEXT and the Russian language support program ORFO) were used in the development
of the proofing tools included in the new version of the Russian Microsoft Office suite "Microsoft Office 2003".
Informatic has already signed agreements of the kind with Microsoft. The latter then received the license to use Russian proofing tools in Microsoft Office 97/2000/XP.
MS Office 2003 will comprise the following linguistic modules:
- Spell Checking Module;
- Grammar and Style Checking Module;
- Text Hyphenation Module;
- Thesaurus (Dictionary of Synonyms).
These modules have been essentially updated. Dictionaries of Common Words now comprise words of recent introduction. The number of synonyms is enlarged. Grammar Checking Module now allows to find some more errors in the text which could not be found before. Grammar and style checking rules are adjusted.
The improved modules will give users the opportunity to appreciate the quality and reliability of the spell checking programs offered by Informatic.
According to the agreement Microsoft has a license to use the above-mentioned morphological modules from Informatic in full text search system. These modules allow to index textual information and to carry out quick real-time morphological search. They were tested according to the requirements provided by Microsoft.
